lessons are comprised of two components:
(1) "Horse Keeping"
learning about caring for horses, the equipment and their environment; and
(2) Riding Lessons -
learning how to ride safely with strong foundation skills applicable to all riding disciplines.
Our lessons include HORSEMANSHIP that is age appropriate covering everything from basic handling and grooming to taking a horse's vital signs.
Lessons also include FLEX RIDING which focuses on safe, secure, and versatile skills that employ dressage principles and a solid foundation. This foundation enables riders to have a "Flexible" skill set easily adapted to a wide variety of riding disciplines such as Sporthorse, Show Ring Pleasure, Western Ranch Riding, Saddleseat, and at home trail riding to name a few.
Students can expect to ride in an English saddle to master the basic, balanced skills. Once those are mastered, the student will learn the how, what, and why of collection, extension, and riding on the bit.
Once the student becomes reasonably proficient, other disciplines will be introduced such as Western Pleasure, Ranch Riding (including trail), Showmanship in Hand, Saddleseat, Western and/or English Dressage, and Driving
